Milwaukee pH58 MAX Waterproof pH, ORP and Temperature Tester
The Milwaukee pH58 MAX is a compact and versatile handheld tester for measuring pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) and temperature.
Designed for routine field, laboratory and production use, it combines accurate digital measurement with simple operation, automatic calibration and a replaceable double-junction electrode.
The pH58 MAX is suitable for applications including brewing, winemaking, food production, education, water treatment, swimming pools, hydroponics and general water quality testing.
Easy and reliable measurement
The large dual-level LCD displays the primary measurement together with temperature, making results easy to read.
To take a measurement, simply place the probe into the sample, stir gently and wait for the stability indicator. The hold function can then be used to freeze the displayed result for convenient recording.
Automatic temperature compensation helps maintain reliable pH readings across the instrument’s operating temperature range.
Simple automatic calibration
The pH58 MAX supports automatic one- or two-point pH calibration.
Two selectable sets of memorised calibration buffers are available:
- pH 4.01, 7.01 and 10.01
- pH 4.01, 6.86 and 9.18
This allows the tester to be used with commonly available calibration standards while keeping the calibration process quick and straightforward.
Replaceable double-junction electrode
The supplied Mi58P gel-filled pH electrode features a double-junction reference design.
This helps reduce contamination of the reference system and can provide improved service life compared with conventional single-junction electrodes.
The electrode is replaceable, allowing the tester to remain in service without replacing the complete instrument when the pH sensor reaches the end of its usable life.
Suitable for wet working environments
The IP65-rated enclosure protects the tester against dust and water jets, making it suitable for use in wet laboratory, production and field environments.
Its lightweight design makes it easy to carry, handle and store.

Electrode care and maintenance
All pH electrodes have a limited service life, and their response will gradually become slower with age and use.
Correct storage, cleaning and calibration will help maintain faster response times and reliable results.
For best performance:
- Store the tester upright with the protective cap containing MA9015 electrode storage solution.
- Never store the electrode dry or in distilled or deionised water.
- Clean the electrode regularly by soaking it in MA9016 cleaning solution for approximately 20 minutes.
- Calibrate the tester after cleaning, extended storage or whenever measurement accuracy is important.
- Gently stir the probe in the sample to help obtain a stable reading more quickly.
A suitable pH electrode maintenance kit is recommended to keep the sensor properly cleaned, conditioned and ready for use.
