TOBIN EYEWASH SYSTEMS - Tobin Eye Washes are a well proven, quick and safe way to wash chemicals from eyes. This specially designed system gives the fastest possible application combined with a liquid volume large enough for most eye accidents.
What You Should Know:
- Chemicals in the eye can cause serious damage within 1-5 seconds
- Washing that begins within a few seconds can therefore be decisive in minimising the damage the eye will receive
- It is also of utmost importance that an eyewash system is easy to use and that the exposed eye is washed by a soft flow, both features are engineered into every Tobin bottle
- The patient needs just one hand to operate the bottle and the eyewash system empties under natural pressure, the flow cannot be increased by squeezing the bottle
- Under AS4775:2007 the Tobin Eyewash System would be classified as Supplement Equipment
- Supplemental Equipment shall provide immediate flushing to support self-contained or plumbed equipment but shall not replace them
- We recommend that the eyewash should be mounted adjacent to the anticipated hazard
Chemicals can be divided into 3 main categories:
- De-greasing agents. Wash no less than 2-3 minutes
- Acids. Wash upto 5 minutes and see a doctor immediatly
- Alkalines. Wash for 10-20 minutes and see a doctor
