qPCR is the fastest and most precise method to identify and quantify pathogens. The YouSeq kit for Escherichia coli contains all components necessary for easy, accurate detection on any qPCR platform. The target gene for Escherichia coli (dnaA gene) has been demonstrated to have a distinctive sequence making it an ideal target for highly specific detection of the target.

The primers will detect all E.coli strains. However, due to extreme homology it is possible that the kit may also detect the following species: Buttiauxella agrestis, Citrobacter youngae, Enterobacter asburiae, Enterobacter roggenkampii, Enterobacter soli, Escherichia fergusonii, Escherichia marmotae, Escherichia ruysiae, Kluyvera georgiana, Obesumbacterium proteus, Phytobacter diazotrophicus, Salmonella bongori, Salmonella enterica, Shigella dysenteriae, Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Shigella boydii and Trabulsiella odontotermitis.

• RNA Extraction kit – This qPCR test kit will work well with high quality RNA derived from any extraction kit with minimal PCR inhibitors present. 
• qPCR instrument with minimum 2 colour detection (FAM and VIC/HEX).
• Pipettes, micro centrifuge tubes and general laboratory equipment.
